Isn't the 460 (at least the low end version) almost half of what the 480 is capable of (well, close at least)? Seems better off just to get a 480 instead, and not have to worry about some games not taking proper advantage of SLI.

Has anybody realized that Microsoft has re-released HD versions of Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, as well as Perfect Dark? Sure, they are Rare's titles, but Microsoft still does do this. I'm sure we will see some more as downloads in the future.

And yeah, anybody with a half-decent PC has had HD versions of a lot of these titles for years now. A good portion of the original Xbox titles were also on PC. Played HD Spinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Brothers in Arms, KOTOR, Fable, ...

Have these collections already, it's called playing them on PC. It's funny how we used to play games in HD back then and not even know it.

Seriously though, I hope more and more collections like this make it to retail. Backwards compatibility is great, and I love it and all, but it would be nice to see more of the true classic, best of system and niche titles end up in collections and as downloadable titles. There are a few titles I have missed over the years I woul...

I'm hoping they take out Rally from the Rumble Pit, it's just so unbalanced. I really like Headhunter, except for the fact everyone spawns with grenades all the time... Really wish grenades were pickup only.

Team Snipers and SWAT aren't too bad, but the amount of times it comes up needs to be toned down. You should only get that option every few games, like 5 or so.

I actually do like GFWL, in theory at least, since it aludes to the possibility of cross-platform gaming. There are some games which utilize this, but they are few and far between.

Steam just does more things better, in my opinion at least. The user interface and store are much cleaner and easier to use.

The big thing I find is probably not so much an important region for sales, but important region for the different kinds of games being developed. North America and Europe have been producing a wealth of new genres, or at least the have been changing the formula for current genres for awhile now. The American RPG format, like Oblivion, Mass Effect 1/2, Dragon Age, Fallout 3 etc... have become extremely popular and have been pushing the popularity of the traditional Japanese RPG down for years...

Even playing through a unique section of the game, set before the main game, and getting some unique items that can be collected later on by the main character, is also interesting. It's rewarding and I don't feel robbed. Charge me to play a piece of the final game, no thanks.

This is definitely an interesting way for developers and publishers to get more money out of the gamer. I like the term "DLC you don't need the game to play". You get to preview the game in a way, but at the same time it is its own unique experience, with story and setting. This is a "demo", or "DLC demo" that I could live with. I'm paying for something unique, and in this case, probably not something that would have been in the final game. This is a good...

Exactly, it is sad but true. I know of so many people who go out there, buy a Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Fit (maybe some Guitar Hero), but they never go out and buy an actual traditional game, like Mario or Zelda, or some other title. They only have their Wii's for that purpose. I actually see lots of Wii's pop up on Kijiji, but far fewer PS3s and 360s.

That is why I think that Nintendo could get away with launching another console earlier than the competition. You ...

I think so as well. Nintendo managed to engage a new audience with the Wii, and probably made a few true gamers out of people with it.

My prediction for the next Nintendo console will be that, although likely weaker than another Microsoft or Sony console, but likely more than powerful enough to develop true cross-platform titles, albeit at some sort of trade-off, likely in regards to visuals. For example, I can see Microsoft and Sony having mandatory 1080p (though probably ...

Hmm, I don't necessarily think that the Wii requires a replacement anytime soon, but I do believe Nintendo needs one sooner than either Microsoft or Sony do. Nintendo should be able to design a relatively powerful console that is fully backwards compatible with the Wii and Gamecube rather easily, as the hardware is admittedly dated from a technology standpoint. A new IBM derived, multicore CPU with another ATI chip that can emulate the ArtX graphics chips from the prior consoles, for back...

I find that, in theory at least, and with certain games out at the moment, achievements can be fun, but most developers get it wrong. With Xbox Live, every single retail game, no matter how difficult, gets 1000 GS (more if you add paid DLC). Now, how do you compare beating Call of Duty 2, 3 etc... on Veteran to get the achievement, versus say King Kong where all you have to do is play through the game and you get 100 GS for every level you beat. Thus, comparing gamerscores between players can...

Finally done, hell yeah. Watching the stream right now, looks fun.

Nevermind this 2011 stuff, if the game is done throw it up on Steam so I don't have to wait!

I was thinking of getting one of these, because my old NES kicked the bucket (all corroded inside). This is the best clone unit out there in regards to every system, from what I've been able to read up on, but it is ugly. At least it lets you use your own controllers instead of those IR pieces of crap.

One thing I do not understand about any of these clone systems, is why can't they put some better outputs on the back? I mean, most of these consoles can output RGB a...

I think the big issue here was the fact that Microsoft utilizes a proprietary wireless protocol for their controllers, which of course they hold the patents for, and Datel was able to bypass/reverse engineer it, that would be my assumption since the Wireless Controllers do not require a dongle. Of course, they are probably also were sueing on the grounds the controllers looked a lot alike.

I actually like the design of the TurboFire2 Wireless Controller, that D-Pad looks sw...

I also hope the install for this game limits the extra space needed on the HDD, such as not putting the entire first disc on the HDD if the data is already on the second disc. You might only end up with a 3-5 gig install maybe? Not too bad.

5647d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

... however, it would be nice if developers could choose to require if their games have a mandatory install. Disc swapping isn't a great system because you have to replicate some material between each disc that is the same, which diminishes the amount of space that is available. Couple with that 2 gigs of "security" space on each disc, that doesn't leave much extra room for developers.

For future games, Microsoft should allow mandatory installs, and then t...

Rearmed was a great game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope it also comes out on PC as well, Capcom is pretty good with their releases. A game like this is just fine on consoles though, that's where I got the last version.

It's good to see these old-school inspired games coming out, really takes me back. I hope we see more companies go back and remake/re-release their old titles, or release sequels like this one.

Wow, disagrees for a completely logical statement?

Sony can certainly combine both chips onto one die, but at this point it will probably be too big and too hot to bother with. They would probably need to go down even smaller than 45nm to make that economical. The Cell is just too big on it's own for that, and they have a solid design that cools well.

Hell, I don't even think Nintendo has combined there chips yet, or shrunk the design down past 90...

A quick thought. If some new CPU design does come out that is hardware incompatible with that of the current 360, Microsoft may opt to include the CPU from the current 360, and utilize it as a co-processor (possibly on die with newer CPU), and use it as backwards compatibility with current 360 hardware, but utilize it as a dedicated processor for Kinect (in whatever form it may have next generation), like the Genesis did with the Master System's CPU, and the PS2 did with the PSOne's c...
